Founder: Erica Manto Paulson
Erica Manto Paulson is the founder of Birth With Ease® and Nurture Cincinnati, bringing 20 years of experience in childbirth education, doula care, and maternal health. Erica founded Nurture, a Cincinnati-based organization that became a trusted resource for pregnancy, birth, postpartum support, breastfeeding education, Hypnobirthing, and parenting classes.
Building on Nurture’s legacy, Erica created Birth With Ease® to make trusted doula training and childbirth-&-parenting education accessible everywhere through live online classes, while also offering professional doula training, certification, and mentorship. Erica serves as Adjunct Faculty at the University of Cincinnati, teaching doula courses within UC’s Rural Population Health program. Her work brings professional doula education into an academic setting where students can earn college credit while developing practical skills to support families and communities.
A Certified Birth Doula, Certified Ayurveda Postpartum Doula, Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, and a certified Prenatal Bonding (BA) Specialist, Erica combines evidence-based childbirth education with somatic awareness, emotional attunement, and extensive hands-on experience supporting families. Her maternal health advocacy and leadership include service with the Ohio Board of Nursing Doula Advisory Group, TriHealth Doula Advisory Group, Cincinnati Area Doula Society, Buckeye Birth Coalition, and other regional birth organizations.
Beyond her work in maternal health, Erica is a published author and poet and was named Ohio Poet of the Year in 2022 for her poetry collection, Hunger.

About the Advisory Team
The Birth With Ease Advisory Team was created to provide thoughtful guidance, perspectives, and accountability as our organization continues to grow.
The team serves as a trusted sounding board, helping us evaluate programs, educational offerings, policies, partnerships, and future initiatives. By bringing together individuals with different areas of expertise and lived experience, the Advisory Team helps ensure that our decisions remain balanced, responsible, and aligned with our mission.
Advisory Team members offer insight, ask important questions, identify opportunities for improvement, and help us consider the needs of the families, doulas, educators, and communities we serve. Its role is to provide perspective and guidance that supports thoughtful decision-making, accountability, and the long-term integrity of the organization.
